Join us at the Museum on October 18 to celebrate both Polish American Heritage Month and LGBTQ+ History Month! 
Polish American Heritage Month
Celebrate Polish American Heritage Month at the Museum! Join us in recognizing and honoring the rich cultural heritage, history, and achievements of the community through the arts.
  • 10:30 a.m.-2 p.m. | Café Takeover: Belvedere Café 
  • 10:30 a.m.-2 p.m. | Tables in Stanley Works Center:
    • Poles in American Military History  
      • Table display of a collection of Polish military objects including figures from American wars 
    • Artworks by Joanna Biskupski 
      • Table display by artist and NBMAA Docent Joanna Biskupski, graduate of the Academy of Fine Art in Krakow, featuring jewelry and graphic art 
    • Table displays by local artists:
LGBTQ+ History Month
Together with New Britain Pride and the New Britain Public Library, we will highlight and celebrate exemplary role models from the LGBTQ+ community. 
  • 10:30 a.m.-2 p.m. | New Britain Public Library Table in Landers House:
    • Create your own pride buttons and learn what the different colors/flags mean to the LGBTQ+ community!  
    • Pick up a bookmark with a list of LGBTQ+ authors/books
  • 11 a.m.-1 p.m. | Guerrilla Girls gallery intervention 
  • 11-11:45 a.m. | Poetry workshop by Windsor’s Inaugural Poet Laureate: Versatile Poetiq
