Join Magdalena Gómez in an interactive workshop using words, silences, intentional movement, deep listening, story sharing, and poetry with purpose. Dress in loose, comfortable clothing, and bring a favorite quote or affirmation that uplifts you, written out by hand if possible. Be ready to laugh!
Facilitator Magdalena Gómez has been a life-long national cultural worker, Poet Laureate, playwright, performer, and keynote, providing sustainable and replicable tools for self determination. As a widely published and international award winning author, she is best known for the healing power of all her work to bring laughter, joy, and unity into the dark and broken spaces within us. “Activated creativity is self-defense against tyranny. This program is related to The Museum of the Old Colony, which is the inaugural exhibition of Puerto Rico In Focus, a multiyear initiative at the New Britain Museum of American Art that centers Puerto Rican art and histories within the context of an American art museum.
